The Gift<\/i><\/b> is a series watercolors: forty-eight life portraits of women<\/p>\n
artists Amos completed between 1990 and 1994 with many<\/p>\n
friends who individually visited the artist\u2019s New York studio for<\/p>\n
their portraits. “It started with my desire to give to my daughter,<\/p>\n
India Amos, all of my women artists-friends. I wanted her to know<\/p>\n
and have all of these important and powerful women and their<\/p>\n
legacy, as they had been so important to me.”<\/p>\n
