Spiral: Perspectives on an African-American Art Collective comes to New York’s Studio Museum in Harlem

Jul 14, 2011 – Oct 23, 2011

Emma Amos works are on view as part of this Spiral’s retrospective.

Spiral: Perspectives on an African-American Art Collective presents works by members of the historic Spiral group, taking as its starting point a recent exhibition of the same name at the Birmingham Museum of Art in Alabama. It now makes its way to the Studio Museum in Harlem.

It was organized by Lauren Haynes, Assistant Curator, in collaboration with Emily G. Hanna, PhD, Curator of the Arts of Africa and Americas at the Birmingham Museum of Art.
